Important Salien Places

Ociderien - "Land of the West" - Aratar led the Salien to Ociderien where they settled and live to this day. Ociderien had been discovered by the Ossele who called it Verdusylvarian, the "Land of the Green Forests". The only occupants of Ociderien when the Salien settled there were several tribes of ferocious Giants and tribes of native peoples, some of whom had well-developed societies. The Salien co-existed with the native tribes but were often at war with the Giants. Ociderien would be known as "America" to modern day humans.

Esgalon - The "Hidden City" - Aratar founded Esgalon as the Capital of the Salien. Nestled in a secluded valley among the Eldarion Oroda, the High Mountains. For thousands of years, the Salien occupied Esgalon but it was abandoned in the Ninth Age for fear its location would be discovered by the forces of Evil. It was then hidden by the Salien and can only be approached through Darkwood or through the mountains of the Giants. It can not be reached by portal. Numerous defenses have been constructed to protect it.

Tigart - "Fierce" - Tigart started its life as a fort and still maintains its defenses. It is now used by the Salien as the center of Salien life and the seat of power. The Salien come to Tigart for commerce, government, and training in the magical and fighting arts. Tigart has an extensive system of portals linking it to many other Salien locations including all of the Salien homelands.

Lumonde - "Haven of Light" - Lumonde was the ancient city of the Elegia. It was a center of culture and learning. Like Esgalon, it has been hidden though some Aratele still live there.

Ostellas - The "Star Fort" - Ostellas is the stronghold of the Elegia and home to most Elegia.

Brilcava - "Shining Caves"  - Brilcava is the stronghold and home to the Pumilla. It is both fort and city. It is buried deep within the Tigart Oroda - the mountains surrounding Tigart.

Utgard - "Outside"  - Utgard is the home and stronghold of the Eximia. It is located in the Tigart Oroda. The Eximia guard the approach to Tigart from Utgard.

Clavusorum Alvus - "The Deep of Helm" - Founded in memory of a human outpost besieged by ancient ancestors to the Libertusa, Calvusorum Alvus is a fortress with a city called Angalon "Iron City" buried in the mountains behind it.

Domorien - "Homeland" - Domorien is the home of the Pauladama. Unlike the other Salien settlements, Domorien is not fortified. The Pauladama depend on the Salien to protect their homeland, especially the Eximia as it is located on the slopes of the mountains close to Utgard.

Ozalona - "Emerald City"  -   Ozalona is the Fortress Home of the Verdadama.
